When people ask me why I chose this business, they usually expect me to talk about products or income.

But the truth is, that’s not where my story begins. It begins with a life that felt very full.

For years, I worked in education, taught fitness, raised a family, and even worked a second job. I genuinely loved serving people, but my schedule was relentless. Every day was planned for me. If I needed a day off, I couldn’t simply decide to take one. Like so many people, I was constantly showing up for everyone else while feeling exhausted myself.

Looking back, I realize I wasn’t the only one living that way.

So many people are working incredibly hard just to keep up. They’re doing everything they’re supposed to do, yet they rarely have the time, energy, or flexibility to enjoy the life they’re working so hard to build.

I often think about how much I would have loved to spend more time with my children when they were young. Instead, I was rushing from one responsibility to the next because that’s simply what life required at the time.

When I was introduced to Shaklee, I didn’t immediately see a business. I saw a company that I wanted to investigate.

As an educator, I’ve always believed in asking questions and doing my own research. I wasn’t interested in hype or shortcuts. I wanted to know if the science was credible. I wanted to know whether the company operated with integrity. I wanted to know if I could honestly recommend what it offered to the people I cared about.

The more I researched, the more I found myself saying, “This aligns with my values.” That mattered to me.

If I was ever going to attach my name to a company, I needed complete confidence that it reflected the same principles I try to live by, honesty, education, quality, and treating people well.

But something else surprised me.

It wasn’t just the products that caught my attention. It was the freedom.

At first, I assumed there was one “right” way to build a business like this. I watched what other people were doing and thought I had to follow the same path.

Eventually, I realized something that completely changed my perspective.

  • I could build this business in a way that reflected who I am.
  • I could teach instead of pressure.
  • I could educate instead of convince.
  • I could build relationships instead of chasing transactions.
  • I could be creative.

That freedom fit me.

I’ve never wanted to become someone else just to build a business. I wanted to serve people in a way that felt authentic, and this gave me the opportunity to do exactly that.

Over time, I also realized something else. People don’t just need better wellness. Many people also need more options.

  • Some want the flexibility to spend more time with their children.
  • Some want to reduce financial pressure.
  • Some want meaningful work after retirement.
  • Some simply want to build something of their own.

Not because they’re looking for an easy road, but because they’re looking for a different one. I understand that feeling. That’s why I never look at this as simply sharing products or talking about a business opportunity. I see it as giving people another possibility to consider.

One that allows them to improve their health while creating more flexibility in their lives. One that lets them build something that reflects who they are instead of fitting into someone else’s mold.

That doesn’t mean success happens overnight. Like anything worthwhile, it requires consistency, learning, and serving people well. But I love that I get to decide how I show up. I love that I can build this around my life instead of trying to force my life around my work.

Perhaps most importantly, I love helping people breathe a little easier. That may sound simple, but it’s something I think our world desperately needs.

We’re living in a time when so many people are carrying enormous pressure. They’re tired. They’re overwhelmed. They’re trying to do everything for everyone else.

  • If I can help someone improve their health…
  • If I can help someone discover a little more freedom…
  • If I can help someone believe there’s another way to build their future…

Then this business has already been worth it.

  • My advice is simple.
  • Do your research.
  • Ask questions.

Find a company whose values match your own. Choose something you can stand behind with confidence.

For me, that’s exactly what I found. I didn’t choose this business because someone convinced me. I chose it because I became convinced for myself.

Today, I simply want to share what I’ve discovered with others so they can decide for themselves whether it might help them build a healthier, freer future.

Because I’ve come to believe something with my whole heart:

Great health is freedom.

Sometimes, the right opportunity can give you a little more freedom, too.
